Note that my company,WASA, is planning a CHARITY Trail Run & MTB Ride event on Sunday the 7^th of October at D’SORAH,  I will update you as we progress.

Any news on the status of our club kit? You took our orders a few months ago but have heard nothing since...Any idea when we will have our first club meeting?

Hi!
A couple of us have started meeting on a Tuesday/Thursday at 5pm to train together. We meet at either the Swiss Club or Kyalami Race Track (R15 entry to run/cycle at track).
If you are keen to join us and meet some fellow trail runners, and possibly make new friends then drop me a mail and i will include you in the next mail with details where we are meeting. (elsali.gehm@gmail.com)
P.S. You don't need to be super fit to join, just enthusiastic :-)

Hi All

 I have been asked by Allan Ryninks, the chairman of Wild Runner Athletics Club, to assist with getting the ball rolling in Central Gauteng. 

You probably know by now that the application was successful, and that we are now affilliated to CGA, and therefor also to Athletics South Africa.  This means that, although our main focus will be on trail running, our members can also take part in road races once they have joined the club, and have been issued with their licences. 

Please note the following important arrangements:

•  CGA has indicated to clubs that the 2012 licences will only be available by about the 16^th of January.  They have also notified all clubs that your 2011 licence will still be valid until 31 January 2012.
• You can therefor take part in any road race during January 2012 using your 2011 licence.  
• Our club colours are Royal Blue shorts and an Dark Orange branded top.
• Adidas have agreed to make club kit available to our members with effect from January 2012. We will keep you informed as soon as this is available.
• The kit has already been ordered and will comprise of Split Shorts, a Running Singlet (Vest) and a Club branded warm-up Jacket. These will of course be available for both genders.
• We as yet do not have confirmed prices for these garments, but the agreed upon arrangement is that they will be made available to us at a greatly reduced cost.

 

We now all foundation members and any other interested runners to complete the registration form, and to pay your subscription fees for 2012 as soon as possible:  

•  Please e-mail me at andreknobel@telkomsa.net to request the application form.
• In order to join the club, kindly pay your subs into the account below and forward the proof of your payment along with your completed 2012 licence form to the Club Administrator (wildrunnerac@akko.co.za) or Fax 086 560 7797.
• You will be required to collect your licence number from me  -  we can make arrangements for this closer to the time (I live in Linden, Jhb).
• Please note - Licence numbers will only be handed over on confirmation of payment.

 

Subscription Rates are as follows: 

• All new members are required to pay a Once-Off Joining Fee of R50, plus the following. 

• Adult Members (including licence)                       - R255 

• Couple Membership (including 2 licences)            - R460 

• Junior Members (including licence)                      - R160 

           (under the age of 20 on the 31/12/2012) 

• Social Members (no licence)                                 - R175 

• Trail Members (no licence required)                      - R175

          Trail members are not required to be licensed unless they wish to         

           participate in CGA/ASA sanctioned races

• Full-Time Student Member (with licence)             - R230                       (Proof of Registration required) 

• PLEASE NOTE  -  The current cost of licences are R80-00 for seniors and R60-00 for Juniors, and this is included in the membership rates as quoted above. However, CGA/ASA have indicated that licence fees might well be increased for both Seniors & Juniors for 2012. Should this occur, we will call upon all members to pay in the difference of this increase.

PLEASE ASSIST US WITH GETTING THIS ADMIN DONE AS SOON AS POSIBLE.

 

As soon as we have sufficient paid up members on the books, I will arrange a first meeting where we can discuss whatever is needed, for example setting up of a sub-committee for CGA, arrangements for club runs, admin structure, etc.  This can hopefully by done by mid-January.

Wild Runner Central Gauteng has got the green light. Details of Membership process to follow shortly.

Welcome Central Gauteng Athletics to the Wild Runner AC family. Looking forward to seeing more Orange and Blue 'Wild Things' out there.

 I did the Jonkershoek extreme on sunday & I´m trying to find the kind couple who pulled one of their fleeces onto me, cos i was too cold to do it myself. I´m not sure if they are from the Cape or up here so i´m posting this in both groups. The lady even ran with me to make sure that I kept going - thank you for your help, I really needed it then, sorry i was too out of it to get your names or race numbers. I would like to get your fleece back to you, so if you do read this please send me a message on my profile. Thanks also to the other lady who took over & ran with me the last bit. Great race , just got my butt thoroughly kicked by the weather !

Hi Ross  -  Allan did get the two further names and submitted to CGA.  They indicated that they are in favour of the application.  Should come through any day now.
